Once upon a time, in a small city named Houston, a college student gathered together other small businesses to create a program called  Fairy Tale IRL. In the Program, local businesses help the students have their dream prom glam. Which include make-up, Hair, nails, and even a custom prom dress."Fairy Tale IRL" that was dedicated to helping seniors with the financial cost of prom.

 

Prom night was a highly anticipated event for the graduating seniors, but not all of them could afford the expenses associated with it. The program aimed to make prom a memorable and affordable experience for a few lucky seniors in Texas.

 

The Members work in several ways to assist the students. After the board members read all the essays and go over the information submitted, they will select 1-2 students to adopt for Prom. In February the students will be contacted and the fairy tale will begin. ​To further alleviate the financial burden, the program hopes to offer scholarships and grants specifically designed to cover prom-related expenses such as tickets, and transportation, it could even be used to help relieve some of the cost of college such as dorm supplies or books.  

 

Seniors in need could apply for these opportunities, and the selection process focused on ensuring that those with the greatest need received the assistance.​

 

And so, the program continued year after year, making prom dreams come true and reminding everyone that with a little bit of magic and a lot of community support, dreams could become a reality.​
